EID welcomed this Thursday, 4th of April, a visit from the new Board of Directors of idD Portugal Defence, one of the EID’ Shareholders.
Led by the newly appointed President Eng. Carlos Félix, and accompanied by two members of the Board, Dr. Carla Tavares and Dr. Luís Ribeiro, the delegation was welcomed by EID’s Executive Board and Management, joined by Andy Thomis, Executive President of the Cohort Group and EID’s Chairman.
During the visit, a comprehensive overview of the company’s activities and its current and future projects was presented. The new idD Board of Directors had the opportunity to visit our facilities and the chance to get close to some of the latest cutting-edge solutions EID is producing for their customers in Portugal and around the world.
With the first-ever European defence industrial strategy being published by the European Commission last month, which highlighted the goal of enhancing Europe’s readiness and security through the strengthening of the European defence industry, it was an excellent opportunity to share with idD how EID continues to invest in supporting research and development in defence.
Martin Bennett, EID’s CEO outlined during the visit that “EID´s cooperation with the armed forces and defence industry in Portugal is vital for future success, and the work that idD does in promoting the development of the local supply chain is crucial”
Carlos Félix quoted that “the strategic alignment between EID’s shareholders is essential for the future of this important company, and it stands out as a priority for us”
The visit of idD Portugal Defense’s Board of Directors underscores the government’s commitment to promoting strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, in line with the European strategy.
