EID has been awarded a contract to supply integrated communications systems for two strategic sealift vessels (SSVs) for the Philippine Navy (PN).
The contract, signed in May 2015, between EID and shipbuilders Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea and PT PAL of Indonesia, includes the delivery of communications suites (ICS – Integrated Communication Systems) for the two landing platform dock (LPD) style ships, Makassar-class design developed by DSME, with deliveries scheduled for 2015 and 2016.
The communications suites will consist of EID’s ICCS – Integrated Communications Control System and Harris radio equipment. EID will also be responsible for the integration in ICCS of further onboard communications subsystems.
On March 2015 EID signed another contract to provide ICCS for the three UK Royal Navy River-class offshore patrol vessels (second batch), being built by BAE Systems. The equipment will be delivered between December 2015 and March 2017.
About EID’s ICCS:
EID’s ICCS (Integrated Communications Control System) was specifically designed to meet the stringent demands of warship communications. As a result of continuous innovation and solid know-how from several decades of activity in the defence communications area, the system provides an efficient control and management of on-board resources for any type of military vessels.
Over 120 ICCS equipped warships are currently sailing the oceans, using efficient and reliable communications to accomplish their mission.
