Last Thursday, the first Project Management Review (PMR) took place, presenting the progress of the project with the DAMEN shipyard for the construction of the new Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) “NRP D. João II” for the Portuguese Navy. This multifunctional naval platform is designed for key missions such as:
- oceanographic research;
- search and rescue;
- disaster relief;
- maritime security operations;
- naval support.
In addition to being the first delivery of the ICCS version 7, this project also marks the first time EID has expanded its scope beyond communication systems, integrating the complete C4I networking solution for the vessel. The project is progressing on schedule and within the planned budget. The next key milestones include the internal FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) in July 2025 and the customer FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) in October 2025, with material delivery to the client by the end of 2025.
Congratulations to the entire team making this project a reality!
This first PMR represents an important step toward establishing a project management-based organization, where all internal departments work together to achieve a common goal, enhancing and transforming EID for sustained success and growth.
