EID is proud to have sponsored the Airborne Team, a group of talented students, at the Euro RoboCup Rescue Line 2024 held in June in Hanover, Germany. This prestigious international competition challenges teams to design and program autonomous robots capable of navigating complex rescue scenarios, simulating real-world disaster environments.

Competing against 30 international teams, the Airborne Team achieved remarkable results, surpassing two other Portuguese teams despite being newcomers to the competition. Their resilience and dedication stood out, as they were the only Portuguese team without prior experience at this level.

Since the competition, the Airborne Team has been diligently working to enhance their robot. The hardware design has been improved for robustness, and the software is fully functional, with upcoming advancements in image processing to enable autonomous operation. The team is excited about the 2025 season and aims to build on their achievements.

EID’s sponsorship was instrumental in supporting the Airborne Team, covering a significant portion of travel and accommodation costs. This collaboration highlights EID’s commitment to fostering innovation and empowering young talent in STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.
