The ceremony of christening and delivery to the Portuguese Navy of the offshore patrol vessel NRP Sines took place last July 20th.
This is the third ship of the Viana do Castelo class, all of them built in Portugal. The ceremony was chaired by Prime Minister António Costa. The Minister of National Defense and the Chief of Staff of the Navy were also present, as well as high-rank military and civil entities. EID, as the supplier of the ship’s communications system, was also represented at the highest level.
“It was a great honour to attend this ceremony and see once again a brand new Portuguese ship equipped with our state-of-the-art communications system. I would like to express to Commander Mónica Martins and her crew our best wishes”, states proudly EID’s Managing Director, António Marcos Lopes.
